BHC Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I have a few scopes I can put on it I have two Leupold VX-2, 3-9X40 Two Redfield Rebels 3-9x50 4-12x50 illuminated
Eyesofthewoods Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I would imagine a lower power scope would work fine. Like the vortex I have on my 35 2-9 power would be a fine fit. Just my 2cents
bowguide Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Vortex strike Eagle 1-6x24 on my Marlin 1895 45/70
MikeStaten Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I like a lower power scope for a woods rifle. I have a Vortex Razor HD LH 1.5-8x32 and it’s perfect. The glass is incredible bright and the field of view at 1.5x is very wide. I have a Leupold VX2 in 2-7 and it’s good but the field of view is noticeably smaller than that Vortex. I don’t see a reason to go higher power for a deer rifle that’s limited to shorter ranges. Of the ones you listed, I’d go with the 3-9x40. Tarhunt 1

This right here^ No reason for high magnification with a straight wall AWM
Bigmac Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I put a Vortex Crossfire 3x9x50 made for straight walled rifles on my 350 Legend, nice scope at reasonable price. It’s my first Vortex scope although I have their binoculars and am happy with purchase. BHC 1
Rumrunner69 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) I have a 450 Bushmaster with a Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x50 with a custom turret. Edited December 15, 2024 by Rumrunner69 BHC 1
BHC Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 I can get good discounts from Leupold they are my favorite scope. Looking through the 4 scopes I have sitting around all great the Leupolds are clearer than the two Redfields but for the money those Redfields are nice, being my eyes are getting old I might get the Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12x50 Duplex, more scope than needed but my eyes are calling for it

nmc02 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I am disappointed in Leupold. They don't seem to be made as well. Less metal, more plastic. I bought two other brands recently instead (swarovski & Trijicon). I only like duplex reticles. Really excited to try my Trijicon Huron scope.

I was looking at those Trijicons but the eye relief seems really short. Have you mounted it yet? How’s the eye relief?
