Anyone out on the ice.

Anyone I’ve fishing yet?  Never went but don’t think it’s for me, I would rather hunt this time of year.  I heard some people have seen guys out. With all this cold I’d imagine smaller ponds are ready.

Didn’t know where was safe ice yet.  While it’s been chilly I didn’t think it was brought to get 3-4” but like you said maybe some small private ponds have enough to fish on.  Bigger bodies seem to be open water still.

Saw a guy out in tobyhana state park a few days ago. Ice will melt this week with rain and temps 40-50.

Even the earliest safe ice lakes and ponds aren’t safe yet here in NJ. I drove past a bunch yesterday, but nobody was out on any as the ice isn’t thick enough and will start melting today and be gone by Wednesday if not sooner. But we seldom have safe ice this time in December.

Always the first like to get hit up there.  In high school we used to go out in planks and sleds.  These days I’ll wait for 4” of solid ice lol
