Lol It's a good feeling for sure, she turns 16 next week scares the crap out of me lol😭 I've been working with her snowboarding for three years now, we've been going only a few times a year, because of prices but, this year bit the bullet. She has a job bought her own season pass and I got one as well. She's getting better gotta work on leveling out the shoulders, keeping her weight forward and pulling her knees together to bend the board to get her carving but, hell to have a 16 year old girl that enjoys and wants to hang out with her honestly old man lol I'll take it PXL_20241208_010228942.TS.mp4 Jim_ and electricstart 1 1 Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.

Hats off to you getting out there and teaching her too! The pulling knees together is definitely a key tip I would use when I taught people. I rode for years, had season passes to mountain creek when I went to Rutgers, rode 5-7 days a week. Such a great time just free riding despite us living on the ice coast! Enjoy it out there! Roon 1

Such a great time just free riding despite us living on the ice coast! Enjoy it out there! I had season passes at Shawnee Mountain ever since I was a kid. Once I turned like 19 and I was paying for my own passes I thought hell I could become an instructor and then go for free. It was a great gig late teens into mid-twenties. I started snowboarding when it was said to be a pop fizzle thing and it will be gone by next year lol. I remember going to Shawnee and only being allowed to ride certain trails on certain nights. I held off on going Blue because they were the elite with their nose in the air and said they would never allow it. We went to Blue last year for the first time and it's such a nicer Mountain off the beaten path away from the city. People that come up from route 80 staff workers and clientele. Everybody all around just seems to be a much nicer group of people than what you get right off of 80 Not judging people. That's just how I've seen it change in my opinion over the years BowhunterNJ 1 Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.
Eyesofthewoods Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Great fun! Used to ski often growing up. Haven’t gone since probably 24-25 years old. Not sure if it would be like riding a bike or a mess for me lol. I was lucky to have about 8 mountains wishing 45 minutes or so of me growing up. Enjoy the day! BowhunterNJ and Roon 2

I've rode at Shawnee a bunch. Only been to Blue a couple times but a very nice mountain. I'm sure some day you guys will head up to VT and she will see what long east coast runs are about. Hard to go there and come back down here haha Roon 1

Kept on skiing. Friend of mine kept that snowboarding halfway through the season. He was ripping down the hill. I said screw this spent the last half of the season learning to snowboard haven't touched a set of skis since that was back in 1990 Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.
