Mountain Goat Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) Anyone know why Old Mine Road between Millbrook to WSF is closed for the winter? Edited November 29, 2024 by Mountain Goat
Roon Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Been closed all summer Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.
Dave B. Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Park service website states that section of Old Mine Rd will remain closed for the winter. Also the dirt section of Old Mine around the Van Campen Inn will be closed and the northern section from Mettler Rd to Rt 206 will not receive any winter maintenance, I.e. plowing, salting, etc. JHbowhunter 1
mike033089 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 They did open it a couple months ago after the paving project. Wonder if this will become a yearly thing to protect the new road. No salt and wear and tear of a plow? I though I read most roads there will close Jan or the first significant snow fall. Haven’t had the snow yet though.
Greybeard Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 They closed sunrise and sawmill because of the snow. Anybody know if they are still closed or will be reopened if there is no more snow on them or if they will remain closed now? Usually they wait until after 6 day.

Nomad Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) As per the "Director", "roads will open and close spontaneously, and without notice, at the whim of the "Director", regardless of paving, repairs, snow or other otherwise irrelevant factors that do not supersede the "Directors" wishes and whims".
