jerseyboy32 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Who uses what. And why… I noticed the wind for on xhunt isn’t as good as HuntStand. But it seems like they all have good things. So I assume people use multi apps?
electric10162 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 I use Huntstand. I had OnX for a year or so early on. HS had the property feature, "rut maps", and the wind app was better. You can also mark treestands, cameras etc. in the app and share with your friends. I recently upgraded to HS Pro Whitetail barrike, jerseyboy32 and roy381 1 2
TheClamGovernor Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 I use onx almost religiously between hunting/fishing. easy to find spots, wind direction, great tools. I also travel so I have access to all states plus whatever extra deals they throw in I find I get my use out of it pretty well
NJNewbie Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 on x and Navionics but honestly use google maps first every time. Find the piece on google maps, right click and pull coordinates then open up in on x. On X is too slow on its own to search around, google maps is much better.
the truth Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 (edited) Spartan Forge. The mapping features hands down beat anything else on the market. They have UAV aerial view (current and historic). And the LiDAR map is very cool. Especially for finding terrain features you just can’t see from topo or aerial views. I also subscribe to Deercast. Their deer movement and weather prediction software is awesome. And they have DeerTrack. Which is super helpful for its database of shot placement videos and recovery info. gobblergetter Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Hunt stand Love it, no longer use onx. Weather forecast and wind direction is very accurate. rgw 1
Stealthy_Bowman Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Have been using OnX for many years. Love it, especially on my annual western hunts. Absolutely essential there.
hostak126 Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Onx Hunt is the only app I use. Not trusting the government doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist, it makes you a history buff

Absolutely essential there. I’m doing recon for next year right now in Wyoming…. Driving around and now have permission on over 7,000 acres (3 different ranches) if I draw a tag. I have back up plans but ONX gives me what I need to be able to make calls etc. Stealthy_Bowman and jerseyboy32 2
Liv2hunt Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 I use ONX it’s easy the people I hunt with use it. The property lines seem to be correct. It’s easy to share your way points I Just want to Hunt...
