BowhunterNJ
May 11, 2016 The 2016 spring stocking season continues until May 27 and anglers can expect the great fishing to continue with additional trout being added to every load leaving the Pequest hatchery since Monday, May 9. Excellent production and growth of the Rainbow Trout have exceeded targets, with fish now approaching 11 inches on average. Final numbers and sizes will be available after the season but will likely be comparable to last year's banner production (seewww.njfishandwildlife.com/2015/trtstk15totals.htm for details). The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds anglers that great trout fishing remains available even after spring stocking concludes. Waters that remain cool will hold trout for weeks into the summer, and Seasonal and Year-Round Trout Conservation Areas, along with Holdover Trout Lakes harbor trout and provide great fishing all year. And come October, the Fall Trout Stocking Program will stock approximately 20,000 two-year old trout measuring more than 14 inches to 22 inches. Myreezoning
good job, NJFW, yes I would love to see brookies and brown, but until something is done to protect the hatchery i understand you can't risk it. Stocking this year has been superb, seeing a lot of fish cauight, having a good year myself, best one in a longtime. thanks for the work you do!
