the truth Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I want to get a soft tan done on my October bear. It’s a small bear so not going to do a mount. Figured I’d just do a soft tan and put the hide on a table or something. Any suggestions on taxidermists? Not looking to spend a crazy amount of money
Jägermeister Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I’m having my October harvested bear tanned, Sahanas Taxidermy is doing it. I was told not to expect a buttery soft finished product since the tanneries just don’t do it that way anymore. It cost $160 a linear foot, not cheap. the truth 1

LittleM Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I had one sent to a garment tanner. Taxidemist requested that they take extra care with the ears and claws. Came back very soft and supple.
