Domain Seed - Top Notch

Recommended Posts

Small plot put in last week. Planted it Saturday afternoon, rolled it in. Rained good on Sunday and this was the growth last night in 72 hrs.  Here is a photo of the big sexy last year. The small plot this year was done in big sexy and no bs.  I tilled another 4 acres on  Saturday that I plan on planting on Friday after work before the rain. That will be show stopper and smack down.

What type of seed is it ?

I planted

Big Sexy , which is turnips, radishes , kale and forage rape and No BS, which is forage oats, clover , rape, chicory and radish. I also threw in a little clover seed as well for the spring.

Nice . When you do a brassica mix you really need to be careful not to overseed . It will definitely stunt the growth and your bulbs will be small . They need room to reach their potential . I learned this the hard way . When done right you will get some serious tonnage.  This was one of my better plots .  I’ve been using merit seed out of Ohio .

@Russ11 your plots look awesome. I'll post some pics of the other plots this weekend after I get them planted. The back half of the small plot really exploded yesterday and hoping we get this rain Saturday. I used merit seed for a few years exclusively and really liked their buckwheat and a few of their special mixes. They had a logging road blend for a while that was just a great mix for planting anywhere you wanted to try to provide some extra nutrition.  I never really had overwhelming results with their clover and over the past years I have been buying a few different types of brassica's, turnips, clovers, etc. and just making my own blends. Its interesting to watch certain deer be selective when going throw a plot. I wanted to try one one of the real world outdoor blends down in south jersey this year but I've been short on time and got lazy and just put in rye and pasture grass.
