Youth 20 Gauge Turkey Load Recommendations-Needed

Maybe you all could hear me flipping out last night but my wife put our turkey hunting stuff "away" which included our turkey rounds. I can probably find it all before next weekend but not so for Saturdays youth hunt. Unfortunately, I don't remember what shells I had for the kid.

She is shooting a 20 gauge Mossberg Bantam with an Undertaker turkey choke and had 3" rounds but don't remember the manufacturer or size shot. Any ideas as to what I can pick up and who actually has them on hand?

As it is I'm going to have to buy a pot call from Dicks or something just to get me thrrough the weekend........

BTW....if anyone has any rounds they want to sell or trade, let me know.

Federal 5 or 6 moss always like smaller pellets

You don't have to shoot turkey load ether what ever gives you the best patteren on paper just can't shoot as far if not using turkey load

I've always gotten good results with a box call, and it's real easy to teach a kid how to use one.  My daughter and I are hunting from a blind, so I'm not worried about the extra movement using a box call.  Something you might want to consider after your kid whacks a monster bird this weekend and you want to recruit someone to do calls for your harvest (at least that's MY plan with my daughter, although I think I'll be hunting alone after she whacks a bird).

What have you guys used?

 

My son is shooting 20 ga 3" Federal Premium High Velocity Turkey Loads (#5 shot).

 

They patterned the best out of his Mossberg.

Dick's had Winchester Double X High Velocity turkey rounds in 3" 5's so we will try that for youth day and then I will try and find time to check the pattern Vs something else if I can squeeze some range time out later this weekend.
