Wyoming 2024

Recommended Posts

Headed west soon (no plane ticket yet).  Kind of a last minute trip.  Details to follow but Elk and Antelope.  I will also be volunteering some time with a Veterans organization while out there.

Just landed from Alaska and wife helped me load the salmon and said you might as well start laying your stuff out for Wyoming.  Need to get some work done in between.

It's a lengthy story but here is a summary

I nominated my old man for an Antelope hunt for Disabled Veterans, he is 100% service connected and is currently fighting cancer most likely related to agent orange exposure.  The guy asked me about my military disability which is small.  The organization got my dad and I Antelope tags and will be guided by a famous outdoor writer (to be shared later).  I offered to spend some time in camp to cook, clean, whatever.  The organizer asked me if I drew an Elk tag, and with 5 points I didn't.  He called me last week and said "I got you an Elk tag".  The Elk hunt will be solo and the Antelope will be semi guided.  Should be a good trip.  Trying to lock down details now.

Wow, that’s one heck of a story!  Best of luck and enjoy the experience!

Just got the transferred elk tag.  I was donated by a high ranking official at Wyoming Game and Fish.  It’s an amazing program.  I head out around the 13 of September until first week of October.
