Early Start To Minerals For 2025

I know it's early but I found myself at Tractor Supply while my wife was shopping at a store in the same shopping complex. Now I need a bag of Di Calcium Phosphate and I'm all set

2 parts Trace mineral salt, the red and loose kind without the medications.
Comes in 50lb Bags
 

1 part Stock salt

1 part General Purpose Minerals

I also add about a gallon of LUCKY BUCK for the scent attracting/flavor factor, you can use dry molasses and works great, I don't due to the fact the molasses will attract bears, the amount of molasses in the General Purpose Mineral is nill

I found a package of jello powder as the attractant brings them in within an hour to a view site .

Dical has gotten ridiculous in price at the few places to still carry it

I did the Jello mix the first year I tried minerals bears on it every single day, replaced it with Lucky Buck yeah it's vastly more expensive but bears don't show up as often and they don't stay on the minerals, this has been my observation

A few more weeks I’ll be switching to bait. I without pull some cards tomorrow i think I have not seen anything remotely close to a shooter this year. I had one or two I was looking forward to this year but haven’t found them yet. Pleanty of dinks and does. I’m starting to get frustrated

No shooters for me this year as of yet. last 7 years shooters showed up anytime in August, only 2021 did I have a shooter show up in January and stayed on camera

I have the same experience with bears; they don’t hang around on granulated minerals.   I use to have them sitting on (or walking off  with) mineral blocks for hours when I used them.

i did the same thing about 3 weeks ago . Both salts from Tractor supply and I added a small handful of corn just to get them there and now im just using minerals. Been working real good. I cant believe the hole they dug to get the minerals. Pretty cool.

Tinkers in hackettstown is normally the location I purchase di calcium phosphate but they are out of it. Called Agway in Blairstown one bag left so I just got it. For future reference they will not be carrying di calcium phosphate in its place they will carry di calcium  carbonate
