splitrockoutdoors
Getting sub 1" groups at 100y is super easy even with inexpensive rifles. Most people just don't want to be bothered in learning how to get the rifle to shoot consistently. Alot of it has to do with what people "think" is the right thing to do. One example is "if I shoot a gun I clean it". Try to shoot a group out of a cold clean bore and see what it measures. The difficult part of shooting is maintaining your sub 1" group over a longer distance with environment factors such as elevation, temperature, and shot angle. thefirstndsecond

Trophy8
Goof video. Big difference between precision and accuracy. Can bet you kid that won shooting the precision rifle had a trigger around 1.5lbs. Lot of reasons guys don't shoot 1 " groups. Trigger weight, change cheek position after each shot, etc etc. Zero rifle on a bench then shoots prone....zero will be different

archer36
There is no doubt that various factors effect accuracy. I think the point of the video is that most people are blowing smoke out their butts when they claim 1 inch groups. Booner
I'll first say that I agree that a big money custom gun doesn't make you a sharp shooter. Does it help having a accurized gun yes. It's been a while since I've shot long distance, I'm talking 1000yrds. So it would be difficult to shoot 1moa today for me. But I have 3 custom guns that I have shot +- 1/2" moa at 1000yrds. And hunted with these guns. Not a big bench gun. It's a difficult task. But more than possible. It's really funny when guys shooting shotgun slugs and say it's a 1 moa gun. Your better off winning the lottery than having a TRUE moa shotgun. Fliers are more common when shooting groups. And are most likely caused by the shooter. Hot barrels and not taking time between shots are culprits of this. But great video and koodoos to the young man. What kind of custom guns do you have and/or recommend?? I am considering a build by R.W. Hart & Son, as they use a 700 in their builds. https://www.hartcustomrifles.com/

Its much cheaper to do it that way. I don't like being told what I need or want. Gather up the pieces and drop it off. It's quicker also. My guy is retired and I've been out of that game for a while now. I can ask my buddies who they recommend now as they still involved. So many great actions out there. I too am a rem 700 clone guy. Grew up on them so feel comfortable with them. Plenty of good barrel companies. I'm a mcmillan game scout fan. And it's fine for hunting/carry. Get a decent brake ( vias ) and good trigger. Price it out and add approx $800-1000 for machining chamber and assembly. Bet you your around $3500 without glass. Now glass a different ballgame. I think you know how I stand on that. But for hunting some of the mid tier scopes are great. Leupold HD's are fine for the money. No need for a Schmidt n Bender for woods shooting nmc02 1 LET EM GO SO HE CAN GROW
Booner
And I'm not impressed with Hart rifles. Especially guns chambered in the Hart cartridge. Complete rip off if your not hand loading. Buddy of mine had a .300 Hart built. They charged him $350 for a box of 20!!!! He has tons of money and doesn't reload. So he font care but they think they the Ferrari of guns and charge accordingly. A nice 30/06 for a all around gun is cool. I'm a off the beaten path guy. 6.5 saum, 7 saum etc... But a 6mm prc or around there is plenty for NE whitetail LET EM GO SO HE CAN GROW

Understand more than some...but many know more than me. I probably need no more guns, but can't help myself
