learning to shoot with opposite hand w/ compound

Just curious has anyone done it here at all ? My right shoulder is shot from years of abuse throwing. I ask this question because in  @ 3 months I have completely retrained myself to throw and catch with my opposite hands. Now don't get me wrong I am not going to gun it from CF to home but in the infield, I can throw almost as hard as I used to be able to with my right arm and I have zero pain, which is amazing. The reason is I attempted it initially is solely for throwing with my daughters as I can still shoot my bow with no problems. I can throw underhand well with my right hand comfortably and can still pitch to the kids in the high 40s  so that is not a concern, but my overhand throws were getting weaker and weaker to the point I can't even lob it anymore. I was always able to switch hit as a batter so the latest transition I just went through has me wondering.  Curious to hear the thoughts on this ?

What's wrong with your shoulder?

I am not 100 % sure. MRI a few years ago after a car accident - partially torn  MRI, arthritis etc. Last November in Illinois climbing down my foot slipped off a stick and I bear hugged the tree and I heard something pop. Lost some range and mobility but mostly strength after that but got it back in January and was able to throw ok until a few weeks ago. Like an idiot  I got in the batting cage when we got a new pitching machine, and I completely over did it. Since then, loss of strength when lifting, grip strength still really good and I have good mobility but do feel pain if I put my hand behind my back with the back of my palm flat. Throwing overhand has almost become impossible at this point (almost feels like bone on bone) but underhand I am still ok, and this weekend pitched 3 games in a tournament and last night two. I think I probably need to do some PT at home and work with some bands to probably try to get my strength back up. My shoulder has always not been that great, but I always worked out with weights up until a few years ago, which probably kept everything else strong around it. I only run now but can see I may need to get back into some kind of weight conditioning even if its just my body weight.

Do you have some good quality exercise bands?  If it were my shoulder, I'd probably be doing I/Y/T exercises, band pull-aparts and face pulls.  I have grumpy shoulders from years of heavy lifting and although I don't lift that way anymore or train 100% in martial arts, they still act up sometime. I try to be proactive with the band work, but whenever they act up, I pull out the bands for a week or two and bang out my daily exercises and it alway helps.  You may never get back to being 100% without surgery, but I'm sure you can do a lot better than you're doing now.

Yes I  have a set.  I don't want to mess with surgery at all. Could you explain what you mean when you say I/Y/T ? Thanks in advance
