Fawn & Puddle

This small fawn was drinking from the puddle alongside the road and I got a picture before it walked off.  About a ½ hour or more on my way back it was laying down in the puddle with not much of it visible.  I needed to back up to get a picture but got out instead and this time it ran into the brush & woods.  If you're wondering where...... Assunpink.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

Sometimes you have to wonder if Deer have more feelings then we give them credit for. I was sitting on the edge of a field waiting for Deer to come out.It started snowing. When the Deer finnally came out to the field 2 fawns began running and jumping back and forth the length of the feild as if they where happy and playing in the snow. Makes me wonder, where they feeling joy?

What I found interesting was that on my first encounter I was in my truck and the fawn wasn't concerned when I stopped. I put the window down and was telling it to get away from the road, clapped my hands and it ignored me.  However when I came back I wanted another picture and since it again wasn't concerned that I stopped  I opened the door and stepped out hoping to get a bit closer, I took two steps and it  looked at me and it ran off.

Was sitting not more than 4 yards from the edge of a somewhat busy road for who knows how long and not one bit afraid of the vehicles but when something different than what is is accustomed to it reacted...............
