Spring lake fishing

I'm thinking about taking an afternoon trip to do a little fishing at spring lake. Besides trout, what does the lake hold? I fished it a lot as a kid but that was a long time ago. Any tips on what I should target, lures, bait? Thanks.

I don't think the Trout hold over in that Lake. Water temps way too high. Catfish and Bass are in there though.

Isn't Spring Lake connected to the ocean with underground flumes? Perhaps I am thinking of a different place. I am referring to the small lake 100 yards from the beach in the town of Spring Lake.

I believe the spring lake he is talking about is near Clinton in Hunterdon Co.

yes, they stock it every spring and have a great kids event there.

If it's trout stocked water for 2016 it's probably closed until opening day.
