Old Town Sportsman Big Water

Does anyone here have experience fishing back bays, inlets and maybe  even a bit off shore with the Old Town Sportsman Big Water or similar craft? I've been thinking about getting a pedal drove kayak and had been focused on Hobie models. Bit there are times when a small engine would be a big help.

Seaworthiness? Battery life? Portability? Stability? It definitely has a steep price tag

Thanks for any ideas

I only have experience with old town pedal drives and hobies, but i can tell you this ….DONT BUY A HOBIE !!!! 10 years ago they were great but the last few years they have become worthless. I have talked to 3 different long time Hobie dealers looking for replacement parts….cant get any ! Hobie is not honoring any of their warranties, shipping parts, answering emails or calls, and this is how they treat dealers, not just the public. I was told some customers have been waiting over 2 years for parts with no explanation given.
