Probably going to buy a new fridge. What brands are good and what to avoid? Have a Samsung and it sucks.  10 years old now and was here when we moved 5 years ago. I’ve changed the ice maker, and constantly have to thaw it out from the ice build up in coils,  water fills under the draw, other issues and now it doesn’t cool right.   Quick google shows Samsung is a no go.

Avoid samsung at all costs biggest peice of shits ever..unfortunelty I put everything samsung in my house before I knew how how shitty it was. Fridge took a shit after 1 year while we were in Maine for 10 days, replaced dryer elects 3 times in 4 years, oven randomly broils food instead of baking.  Washing machine issues, dishwasher not great either.  Have a Frigidaire fridge now that's seems to be ok.

I don't know what's good anymore. I have an LG fridge - bought it 5 years ago because, I don't know why. Wife wanted a new one, I guess. The old one was fine. This LG, since day one, the water and ice taste like garbage. It's the same copper waterline that fed my old fridge that was fine.  Had the hookup done by the installers with an LG-branded kit. I changed the filter several times. Haven't used the water or ice since the day we bought it, tastes that bad.

Should have kept my old fridge where it was. I moved it in my garage and it's still going strong, it's 25 years old. It's a Kenmore side-by-side. But now-a-days, are Kenmore even good? Who knows.

Samsung appliances suck, great TVs

when we re-did our kitchen we opted for  frigidaire professional appliances, the dishwasher broke 7 times, they replaced it, and that broke 5 times till they told us we could opt for any brand, the Refrigerator broke to the point it was beyond repair, the microwave started smoking, the oven well it broke beyond repair due to my daughter's hamster got loose without our knowledge and that SOB ate the wires

So with that, everything is whirlpool the oven is Frigidaire

what's going on with your refrigerator is similar to what happened to mine, I changed the thermostats with no success, and the master computer both plug and play nothing worked. No matter the brand the ice makers are the biggest issues and always break

My cousin has a Bertazzoni refrigerator they come to repair 5 times per year and they have owned it for 4 years they spent $8K, the biggest POS...they are replacing it with a Whirlepool

So true. We did a kitchen remodeling upgrade in 2018, package was with whirlpool,  fridge,  oven/stove, microwave,  dishwasher,  Thank God I got the 5 year extended warranty!!! Every one of them went bad several times for different things in the 5 years.  No more warranty so I'm on the hook when they break again. I'm hoping it last a couple more years.

The original appliances all from 1996 worked fine till the day we upgraded!! If it ain't broke don't  touch it

I don't know why I replaced my 30 year old Kenmore, other than it didn't match my new kitchen and the Samsung was so appealing. Big mistake, nothing but issues. Icemaker went in 2 years, constant ice dam that has to be broken up in freezer. Worst issue is I talked my lady into one to replace old functioning one. Now hers has constant ice buildup under vegetable drawers and whose fault do you think that is? No more Samsung for this boy.

Best fridge I ever had was in Brazil made by General Motors, not GE. I bought it used and it looked like it was from the 1950s or 1960s. Most of all, it looked like a Cadillac from the 1970s. Bulky, heavy, everything fit. I know this doesn't help you today, but I thought it was cool because I'd never know that General Motors do Brasil made home appliances at some point!
