Uh.. WTH.. this is more than that. They are making all FID cards expire after FOUR years... even those of us that have had ours for decades. No grandfather clause!

Slowly, ever so slowly we are loosing our gun rights. We are loosing all of our rights and freedoms.   Those freedoms that our country men and women fought and died for, who are still fighting and dying to this day. We just recognized our fallen heroes on this past Memorial Day. What would they say if they could speak from the grave?
Guns are not the problem, irrational and unstable people are, when they hold them accountable for their actions, then we can have a discussion about how we defend ourselves against them. Punish those who deserve the consequences for their actions. Do not punish us, law abiding citizens, Who are conscientious, who are steady and solid people.
who respect our privileges and our freedoms.
it’s a farce, smoke and mirrors to their clear agenda . Not a conspiracy, just making an observation. 🪶

I thought about this a little and here's my analysis. Again we are being punished by the state for our win in with Bruen. The state is also trying to make it unaffordable as possible to strip us of our God given Right being the 2nd Amendment.

What is actually happening is the state is making all of this so unaffordable it's giving us potential plaintiffs so we can bring these lawsuits before the courts and have them found Unconstitutional. The FOID cards will fall, We aren't running the Daytona 500, we're running the 24 Hours of LeMans. Unfortunately it's going to take time.

Not trusting the government doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist, it makes you a history buff

I see it the same way. We are not “losing” gun rights, instead we are slowly regaining them due to cases like Heller and Bruen. But it is taking a frustrating amount of time to regain those rights.

Exactly.  Wich is why I've been saying everyone should get a carry permit to boost our known rank.  The state already published the drop in crime with the corelation of the start of nj carry.  I know it's a pain but it will help

200 dollars every 2 years is steep though... add in the cost of the "training" they require and all the other ticky-tack fees, how much does it cost to get a carry license in NJ?

I'm curious, typically how long does it take (from the time you submit the application to the time you have the permit in hand? including "training" time, fingerprinting, etc)?

I was going to wait for some of these lawsuits to settle things down and hopefully reduce the cost.

I did it when it first started and took 6 months.  If you are proficient classes can be found under 100.  The point is the more that do it the better we will fare in the long run.  I have introduced some that were non shooters 2 years ago to getting their permits to carry recently.

Just like hunting we need to focus getting the truth to those on the fence about fire arms.  Show them saftey and responsibilities of owning fire arms and how fun shooting sports can be.

I know towns that are 3 weeks out for permits.   I look at it this way say 400 to get it now. That's 1 maybe 2 Friday nights at the bar.

I haven’t seen the published data. Do you have the link handy?

What do you people buy at bars? Dayem LOL... I don't go to bars... but I used to think golf was expensive. 200+ for a evening in a bar? Golf isn't so bad, I guess ;)
