Is this Rifle Legal to Hunt with in NJ

Picked up a Savage Model 24 it has a .22 Magnum over a 20 Gauge Shotgun is it Legal to Hunt with in New Jersey or is it considered having two Firearms while Hunting.

If you were hunting groundhogs or Fox and Yote yes it would be. Both are legal for hunting them. One serial number....... one gun.

It's a .22 Magnum not short so the Trapping excuse is out of the question

Your going to have to call the division and find out -- no one, on any of the forums you posted on, will have a definitive answer -- and would you trust that answer anyway?

 

Call and find out and be sure to take down all the info of the person you talk to -- I'm sure there will be differences in opinion at the division too

908-735-8240. Rimfire and deer hunting are a no-no. If you only have the shotgun ammo with you but no rimfire ammo while in the field you would be ok, but expect a proctology exam by CO looking for .22 ammo when you shouldnt have it
