How Is Your Turkey Season Going So Far?

  Mine has been Tough. I have not been Skunked since 1993. I missed one over the Top.

 I can't miss any days. We will see. I have until May 31st. So how was your Season so far?

Seen many turkeys in Shop RITE, that's how my season went.....but on a serious note saw one bird while hunting undetermined sex, and never heard a gobble near and far

i did hear birds every day.   One day 4 diff Tom’s. 4 diff spots.  One day just one heard one Jake 3 times. 
 

i had 3 jakes at 7 yds.  I had a jake at 38 yds and I had one at 78 in a field.   Diff days Diff spots.  I Saw very few hens 

 

Hope to be out a few more times

Personally I am two for three , I thought yesterday was going to be 3 for 3 but I could not get the Tom away from his hens, he hung out about 70 yards away, he talked to be but was not leaving his girls.

I will go back again Monday and try to find him early morning,

Super fortunate to have a private piece in zone 9 that’s covered up in birds. Killed one in A and another in C.

Maybe best to wait until his lady’s leave to sit on nest. 10:30 ish on. ☘️

Tagged opening day of A week on public and opening day of B week on private. Didn’t hunt C or D but may go one more day this upcoming week.

Yesterday, I heard 6 Gobblers. Today- Zero in the same area. I think some Mountain Bikers must have come Through in the Afternoon.  A bunch of circular  trails in the Public Area made especially  for them.

A, B, & C weeks I got out 4 days in each with nothing to show for it. D week I got out on Monday with nothing to show for it. This coming Monday I am going to give it another try. I have been seeing them in the field on the next property over from the one I am hunting on. It gets difficult to get up at 4:00 A.M. when there is no action.

Called in 5 and 5 hit the dirt. I personally shot two and the other 3 were for friends. Numbers are def down up north had to venture west and south to find some. Best of luck

Congrats!  Crazy when it all comes together thats a good season right there well deserved keeping after those Tom's the topper is sharing it with friends  !

Went with Cynthia  today. At our 2nd Location, I Yelped Loud on my " Viper" Copper Over Glass Pot and he Gobbled just once.

 That was it-- 1 Gobble for the Day. Droves of Mountain Bikers were out today on Public.

Worse season in long time heard a gobble or two in Am early then nothing,hunted sussex and Zone 14 missed two Saturdays hunted alot for few birds I heard. All i have are foxes and coyotes where there were turkeys before. My camera had one hen on it where there were turkeys daily.So i guess this place has seen better days sad my main area.

  This Spring,I have not heard too many Magnum Shots in either Orange County,NY or North New Jersey.
