Did it have a hook in it?  I pulled one into the kayak last week at least that big and it flopped right out over the other side, breaking the line as it hit the water.  Good eating when they are that big.  Wish they would only stock 16" or bigger.

Nice fish .definately not stocked this year.probably been in there a few years by the color of the meat
