The BEST Venison Cottage Pie

Hands down the best cottage pie recipe I’ve tried. I’ve made this dish several times with different recipes I’ve found online (substituting beef with venison). They were all decent but nothing knocked my socks off. Tried this one last night and it was amazing. Takes some time to make but well worth it. The mashed potato recipe was my own and not from the online recipe (I use lots of butter, cream, salt, and Parmesan cheese) because I had some left over from dinner earlier in the week. Decided to top it all off in the oven with cheddar cheese 10 mins before it was done cooking. Not a traditional cottage pie ingredient but I couldn’t help myself lol. So good I had some for breakfast this morning.

Pretty much the exact same. Shepard’s pie is specifically made with lamb but the rest of the ingredients are the same.
