2016 "Safe Ice" reporting please.....

It's finally been cold enough, where I start thinking about getting the tip-ups and auger out... I like a good 5-6" of preferably black ice before I set foot though... I am sure I could find some smaller bodies of water this weekend that might fit that bill, but lets use this post to start reporting "safe ice" throughout the state...

Anybody out yet or see or hear of anything?

BTW.  Same question on the other site has turned into back and forth.  My opinion, naming large lakes as frozen is one thing as Bucksnbows did is one thing and in the same light, discssuing smaller spots without names is just as acceptable IMO.  Like sayin I went to Flatbrook for pheasant and knocked dead yesterday or did well in the no-kill stretch on a certain fly pattern.  Crazy stuff.

I know - I as observing how the same post on that other site, turns into a sh#t-show so quickly... I wasn't asking for GPS coordinates, just trying to get a sense for ice thickness around the region...

I just went "over there" and had a laugh at their expense.  In today's internet age in the most densely populated state in the nation with Google Earth and Bing Maps drilling down so that you can see every pebble in a stream or lake bottom, there are NO secrets left.

Im driving about 2 hours north tomorrow night. The ice was thicker in North Jersey last Saturday, i drilled a hole first thing this morning through only an inch while last Satuday it was 2.5. Either way we will be fishing next week, order your bait, respool, charge the batteries and get ready! I cant wait!!
