well since we all seem to be in the spirit of posting on both sites.... here is my story this evening...

Wow it was tough to draw back on the little feller, but I saw a hunter 300 yards away, waaaay down the zone 2 hedgerow I was hunting, walking around last 20 minutes of light looking for his arrow as he walked out of a ground blind. Then I saw a herd of 15-20 baldies heading my way, closing in to the top of the crest of the hill at 50 yards, and kept looking way down the hill at the bumbling hunter. Finally they decided to exit stage left, which was not in my direction because I was looking for a nice fat doe in that group, as well as 200 yards in opposite direction, I had a bachelor group of 8-10 bucks coming my way with one borderline shooter.

After that group of does/fawns left, I saw one straggler standing there at the crest of the hill, that did NOT go with the pack. I saw the buttons clear as day. I saw a hole in it's stomach which made me sick to mine - and fortunately he decided that where the herd was going was too far for him in his condition... He walked by me at 15 yards, hopped some barbed wire and I decided to "ruin" my hunt by shooting the 60lb deer.

He didn't go far. I called the landowner, and said "your deer is laying in middle of field if you want it" and he said "it wasn't me, it was my buddy". I met him at the spot and gave an old man a deer that clearly will feed him so I felt really good about it in the end. That deer was gonna die in about 15 hours....

All the bucks came as far as the dead button still within shooting light, as well as several more good size doe - but that dead deer spooked them they just kept circling it and acting all freaked out or I may have had my first double. (would have shot one of the doe)

The landowner called me back afterward and thanked me - "need to get him to stop hunting, he can't see anymore, and keeps gut shooting them with his cross bow"...

You can just imagine my thoughts on that.

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

Ephesians Chapter 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Joshua Chapter 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
