Day 4. The last of the warm weather moved out, finally. Definitely shut down most activity during daylight hours. Giant full moon hasn't helped either. Trying to stay confident. Good luck all!

Was out this morning saw 1 small deer from the stand at first light and that was it, woods were dead.  Hardly saw any deer on the 35 minute drive in.

3 deer came in this morning. Wind was all swirly  so they caught my wind and started to blow. Shot one thinking it was a doe but wound up being a button buck. Just butchered it myself for the first time. Nice morning.

He is not on my hit list, John. I'm targeting a 5.5 year old 6 point and a heavy bladed 8 pointer.

Frost is forecasted tonight, with the wet leaves it will be like walking on corn flakes, but will hear deer coming from a distance

Had a cat and mouse senerio with nice 8 pt.  He came in grunting to tink 69 and some buck bomb.  Wouldn't come close enough for a shot, watched him reposition him himself and circle back and came in a different direction, then stood almost motionless for 45 minutes!! Behind some trees and briars, only thing moving was his ears and lifing his nose, finally offered a shot, 20 yd pin, clean miss!!  Bow sounded a little weird,  paced out 28 yrd where he stood.

 

Went home , shot 3 for 3 at target.   

I should of used the 30yd pin
