I was wondering how many actually got their target deer from trail cam pics or spotting them? I have a few of them and others that never showed up. I am already thinking about next season and how to find and kill him next year.

Since I started running trail cams in 2008, I have taken a z5 buck that I had pictures of 7 out of 8 times.  2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.   2009 I took a buck off my buddy's farm we were not running camera's on.   Twice - I took bucks that were out of the stand near the camera, all the others were on different areas within 1/2 mile of camera.    It's not like the camera had them "patterned" though.   My best buck in 2011, I only had one July 24th night of  velvet pictures of him - never saw him again until the day I killed him 11/18.

I usually get at least a sight of my target buck, and kill most of them.. but many times they disappear the week they come out of velvet... once the rut comes in, my target buck become whatever shows uo in front of me that makes my heart rate rise.

I usually have a pretty good idea of what's running around but I rarely target one specific buck.  I can only think of 3 times I went after a specific buck and I was able to shoot all 3 of them.  The buck in my avatar was one of them.

Im still chasing 2 bucks for this season. One Ive been after the whole season and the other just started showing himself since the early muzzy and doe days. I have just recently seen both show on camera in the last 2 weeks during legal shooting time so Im hoping they do it this upcoming month while Im on stand with the shotgun

I usually am targeting 1-2 specific bucks every season. Unless something else shows up. That's the only way I hunt

The past 10 years I have use and taking some nice buck with the aid of trail cams. I took this 147" 10pt early this past fall bow. He was the oneand only that i was going take there and i was lucky on my 2nd sit for him. If i never got a picture of him i would have shot a 120 class 9pt with a kicker on my first sit there.

I was lucky to see  this buck go from  velvet to freezer

Awesome guys. I was kinda lazy this year with the cameras. I had one out for two weeks during the summer and only checked 2 times during fall bow. I knew this buck was there because I glassed him a couple times during the summer but didn't chase him around with the camera. I ended up getting a pick of him a 1/4 mile away from where I killed him. I shared this pic before. This year's before and after.

Another one. Checked camera walking in and jumped up in stand. Came out at first light.

started getting pictures of him in November. killed him in early December.
