Early rutting

Had some bucks chase the living hell out of a few does the other night. Couple weeks early! Tis the season, good luck everyone and stay safe

First does up north come in heat around October 20th. How's the time to be in!

I've been seeing a little chasing as well in the last week or so. 

Always have those early Rutters. 

You will know when it's on when the site pics start picking up with some bigger bucks. 

It's been quiet lately on here.

Not early, normal. Usually smaller bucks early on.

Had a little spike knocking the heels of a doe this morning.  Interestingly  enough she still had milk when I gutted her.

chasing is not really "rutting". I consider it more of a pre-rut activity performed by immature bucks. That is definitely going on right now.  

I have seen with my own eyes however - very early October rutting activity, which is seeing a doe that is ready to be bred NOT being chased but is already being tended by a buck of at least 3.5 years of age. 

Both of these dates, I witnessed "full send it and finish"...

206 and 287 had several dead bucks and a few dead does yesterday

Totally normal. The rut is a bell curve with the first does going into heat around Columbus Day every year and it steadily increases from that point on peaking around Nov 10th and trailing off the rest of the month of November. Does that weren’t bred then will start to come back into heat around mid Dec.
