Thanks For The Advice On A Snow Blower

I was originally going to purchase the 24" model, but some said to go with the 28", it was $100 more, so I did just that. No matter where I went the price was the same, so I ordered it online from my local ACE Hardware Store, they actually had free assembly, and I linked it with Rakuten and will be getting a $155 check for this purchase.

Do you add Stabil to your fuel those that have a snowblower, and if so, which one?

I usually add it as the winter comes to a close. I’ll make sure it runs through the system and when I’m ready to winterize it I’ll drain all fuel run it until it stalls then drain what’s left in bottom of carb. Mine has a small screw on bottom of carb just to drain out what’s in the bowl. Only reason I add stabil is for what could be left in the line somewhere. I spray entire unit down with silicon protectant at beginning of season and again when I winterize. Mine is 13 yo and starts on first pull and not a drop of rust anywhere.
Good luck they are predicting a snowy winter.

Do yourself a favor and only use non ethanol gas. You are very close to PA and there are plenty of gas stations to get it.

Also non ethanol fuel straight and mix is available in cans from places like Home Depot... etc...sometimes there is a deal available so I'll wait for that. It's a bit more expensive to use but that is all I use these days in any small engine (chain saw, weed trimmer, etc...) Unopened it has a shelf life of I believe 5 years and open it's 2 or 3 yrs.

I run treated gas through every machine I own. I mix my own and I'm running my last 10 or so gallons from last November the next couple of days.

OR

Don't do it, gum up the fuel system and when it doesn't start I will give you $155 for it and take it off your hands.

Take care of your stuff and your stuff will take care of you.

Follow hammers and bucndoes advice. I do the exact same. It’s just not worth risking it. I run stabilizers  through all engines to include my outboard.  Its not worth having your gear go down when you need it. The non ethanol gas is a great idea if you can find it but I still don’t trust that either. I’ve had no issues as long as a good dose of treated gas is always used. Not just at the end of the season to winterize.

Like to add, Rocky's Ace Hardware in Easton PA is where I purchased from. They called me this morning informing me that AIRENS started a promotional program for snowblowers. I stopped in, it was $100 off so they reimbursed my credit card, then charged it minus the $100, plus 5 year warranty.....I really appreciated it that they informed me
