I believe you, but would it be unusual for it to be found on a driveway with many acres of huge fields around and no water?

Its unusual but not impossible.  I saw one in the road by my house in Green, and thought WTF...

I agree it looks like a water snake. Copperhead wouldn’t have the red on the belly.

Yea. Definitely not.  It's a water snake.
