Those with Verizon Wireless is your service outgoing/incoming calls not working?  In my area it's not just curious if it's more widespread

Horrible last 2 months. I’m in northern Warren county.  I had their prepaid plan and switched to “real” Verizon when I got a new phone and it’s crap.  I will drop calls 4-5 times on a ride home from Morristown to Blairstown.  At home the internet on my phone can be slow.  I feel like overall it’s getting worse. My sister in Randolph has to use Wi-Fi calling or can’t make a call. I even get the SOS on my phone in parts of town I never did.

Apple phones went with electronic SIM cards so if you have an older iPhone your SIM card is getting fried by automatic updates. My daughter updated my iPhone 13 online by  removing the SIM card and getting an electronic SIM card installed.

They have been updating alot of towers to 5g.  I know down in s jersey a few months ago they told us our service would be spotty during the upgrades and could last a few weeks.  Service was pretty spotty during that time.  Maybe that is going on up by you guys now.

You can call Verizon and they really have no clue. Not sure person on the other end was even in US. I do have newer  iPhone maybe it is phone but I think it is service. Don't bother going for new iphone 15 . They say it's free but that's a scam.

Reception down here for at least the past 1 1/2 yrs has sucked. I never had an issue with calls/calling before at home and always had minimum three bars, now most of the time it's one or the sos symbol comes up. Whatever they did they need to change

I dropped Verizon a few years back for Patriot Mobile. I'm on their t mobile piggy back and haven't many problems.

Reason for the switch was more data and a cheaper bill per month. If I go over they only charge a couple of bucks instead of an arm or a leg like verizon

Not trusting the government doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist, it makes you a history buff

5G requires the towers to be much closer together than previously was the case and some areas lack enough towers. Places like Warren, Hunterdon and Sussex although not everywhere in those counties. A close friend writes code for Verizon Wireless and explained it all to me. My only real takeaway is that the new system they are working on won’t  be anywhere near as finicky and will allow a much larger amount of data to be transferred per text or however you’re using the phone.

When I say “new system”, I mean what is coming after 5G and 5G is just being fully implemented now. Here in Morris County, I’m not noticing issues. But when I drive throughout the Mid Atlantic or New England states, I have noticed a big increase is “SOS” which means out of cell range. That’s 5G and not yet enough towers. I think my buddy said “max distance between towers for 5G is half a mile”.
