Dealt with that a lot when hunting in N FL. Honestly got used to seeing the red eyes when canoeing out to the spot in the pitch black. The cotton mouths were the problem though, gators just stole your downed birds

This is a massive gator... just look at the size of that thing... 

And this guy getting followed after the gator had a meal of his downed bird .. "Hey buddy .... you got any more? Hey, where you think you goin?"
