Well, at least my kids went.  But it gives me an idea for a hike after the present opening fun tomorrow morning ...........

It's a ribbon snake which is very similar to garter snakes.  Ribbons have a white spot in front of the eye.

yeah, if it was cold enough!!! Been very warm, and I've seen lots of ribbons and rat snakes out and about, even some painted turtles while goose hunting!!

Since they are a cold blooded animal, they only need to hibernate when it's cold out.  Amazing that was not a month or two before now!

I'm not a big fan of snakes. I respect them and their purpose on earth, I go out of my way not to disrupt them when I see them. When working on the farm in the Midwest, I sometimes see bull snakes. Beautiful constrictors. The most snakes I have ever observed was in the Nj Pines in swampy spots.
