I don't think he could see me, but he's definitely suspicious. Wind was NE and they came in from N and then wen under me, leaving on a SW path. The second one, depicted here, seems to have caught a whiff right after he passed under me, and thus immediately when the wind hit him. He ambled out slowly, looking in all directions, which supports that he couldn't figure out exacttly where I was. At about 40 yards he met up with a matriarch sneaking in from SW and, after the two nuzzled and communicated--brainwaves ;)--for a couple of minutes she stood there assessing the situation for another couple before turning and following him out.  His little buddy is the buck licking my ladder stand in the other video under peeing from stands and on scrapes topic.  I put in the old cedars at an angle, mixing up his view, just for this situation.  They work pretty great to shield my weak side since the deer insist on using all my paths to this stand and the only other option for me to go in is a brook with really loud, rolly rocks.

He probably smelled where you walked in . You don’t wear rubber boots I see .

Maybe. I often wear rubber boots, but when hunting "seriously." By that, I mean this is an easy stand on top of a small creek valley and the deer tend to come in and out along the sides of the creek, not under my stand as they were doing Friday with a NE wind (NW the overwhelming norm).  So I got lazy, figuring it was too hot for rubber boots.  But you're right.

he knew something was up for sure - but not full blown busted. An older buck or doe, would have snorted and ran

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…
