Given the lack of deer, myself and all I hunt with are done on our farms in Zone 5 for the season.  IF the weather stays warm, we will be coyote hunting with a vengeance.

Every year I have the grand plan to have these two weeks off until after new years and every year it seems that I'm so broke from the holidays and bills that I can hardly afford the gas to get to my spots, much less have money for the butchering.  I'm gonna try and get out tomorrow afternoon after a morning of bird hunting and maybe butcher my own for the first time.

You should definitely try butchering your own. I used to go to a butcher all the time. I watched a bunch of butchering videos, and read a bunch of articles. I now butcher my own deer. It takes me ALOT longer than a butcher but it's very rewarding in the end.
