TAKE BACK THE WOODS! Thank you everyone who took part in our “Take Back Our Woods” Patrol in Wawayanda State Park this week during the bear hunt. We believe that our presence can help keep our bears safe. We want ALL of our members to know that our patrol maintained an active presence in the woods—from dawn to dusk—every single day of the hunt. We know this has been very difficult, both physically and emotionally and we would like to give tremendous thanks to all our trailwalkers: Dani Mecionis Varon, April Stearns, Jean Mollack, Bill Crain, Carol Rivielle, Michael J DeMarco, Flo Iannatuanno, Shari Mcatee, Susan Hatkins Kehoe, Ali Kazamian, Igor Khomyakov (photographer), Eleanor Hoffman, Angi Metler, and Cathy McCartney (organizer). Looks to me their intent is hunter harassment. For that they should get a summons, but Wawayanda rangers will not do their job. They are more interested in playing games with the gates.

 

Also I doubt if these morons got very far off marked hiking trails. If they did they would have gotten lost requiring rescue by hunters.

i wish i would have known this , since we all have a lot more woods / outdoor knowledge, i probably could have used them to my advantage to drive some bears towards me.
