This past week has been really tough for me after the situation with the "Pretend Antis"

I didn't have my bait touched by anything or a bear show up again until Wednesday and it was a small one. No daylight.

Then on Thursday night, he was there 15 minutes after I left and on Friday morning left 10 minutes before I went in.

On Saturday morning, at 7:04 I actually saw a bear 100 yards away, but he was on the move.

I set up there Saturday afternoon, but the Property Walker started his leaf blower at 4:15pm.

So, what have I learned this year?

It doesn't matter how hard you work or how much time and effort you put in, because . . .

Sometimes the cheaters win

But, there really are some great guys on here that I wanted to say thank you to.

At least 4 members contacted me to let me know that they had already shot a bear in zone 1 and had bears in daylight hours and if I had a zone 1 tag, they would set me up.  I had 2 and 4.

One member called me to ask me where I wanted his bear taken to be butchered cause he wasn't going to eat it.

Another member texted to say So and So gave me his bear, so I have bear meat if you need some.

Another member called and the first thing he said about shooting his bear was, "Robin, WE got bear meat."

Another member, not knowing any of this, shot his first bear yesterday, texted me and said, "I'll make sure to get you some of the meat."

So, although I did not shoot a bear AGAIN, I am richer than those that got the best of me during our 6-day Bear Season for through hunting I have met some truly wonderful people and I simply wanted to say Thank You !!!

Robin, seems like there's always a bright side to every story. Glad to see you were able to get some meat. Sorry to hear about the whole situation. I know you worked so damn hard for a bear this year

Sorry to hear you didn't get one after all the work you put in.  They still haven't ruled out the extended season so if you can get away from work next week you may still pull it off.

Greg aka HighGuy was one of my biggest cheerleaders, setting it up so that I could work from 10-2 every day last week except for one morning and be able to hunt mornings and afternoons. He's already given me the A-ok for the extension as well.
