Dang deer drivers

Morning hunt ruined.

At 8am I hear yelling and shouting and I quickly realize I am being invaded.

Probably 10 guys and 1 comes 15 yds in front of me and 1 30 yds behind me and I am pretty much dead center in their lineup.

Argh!

8am? Really?

I am disgusted and frustrated

So, They get past me about 100-200 yds and I get my stuff together and light up the morning...with my 12 gauge ...felt good to let a few fly.

Hopefully they take a while to figure out it was none of their own shooting...all the yelling stopped though and the woods went very quiet though.

You should have at least stayed put for a little while longer.  I've seen deer double back through drives quite a few times.  They're smarter than you think, and usually smarter than the idiots who drive at 8am on the 2nd day of the season.  That's how those big bucks get big and the wise old does get wise.

He is right they will double back. As frustrating they are, sometimes they can make your day.

Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.

I couldn't believe the size of gang of hunters at Byram Quick-Check this morning at 6:30 AM.   They clearly were in no hurry to get on a stand, there was about to be a massive drive going off somewhere. At least 20-30  adults and kids of all ages.

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

I miss the days when they used to do drives in my area. I used to get a buck every year and most years two because the drivers would move the deer around. These days I don't see anything because I seem to be the only person that still hunts around here.
