I really don't know, this is my first bear. The color I picked matches where I will be hanging the bear on a wall. I saw one with a reddish maroon trim, I actually like it better

I think the material is what  helps keep the rug from coming apart , if it was used on the floor....much like the fringe on an oriental carpet.....but alas I am guessing.....
