Where to sit on the opener

I've got a choice between 2 baited stands, 1 public land, 1 private. Public land spot is off the beaten path and has a great bear hitting the bait right at dark every day. But I'm afraid the Ira he army will screw up that pattern. Private spot has a great buck but no bears. The buck is inconsistent but would easily be the widest buck I've ever taken. The private spot will se some disturbance from the adjoining property so I'm hoping that any pressure pushes the deer to me and that that buck will come. But again, there are no bears on that bait at all. Which spot would you sit? The public land spot and cross fingers or the private land spot and cross fingers? Also, the private land will be driven on Tuesday. But that big buck has shown just once in the last week there

I would always take the private.

I'm the opposite. Id try to hunt the public before the pressure alters the movement. Might only get that first day.

Hunt the private. If you're going to sit on public, sit behind a thick tree.

You have many months to shoot deer but only 6 days to shoot a bear.  I would pick the spot that had the better chance of taking a bear.

I'm going public Monday hoping for yo buckers to push to me then Tuesday back on private ground.i say go public for bruin ypu never know buck of a lifetime might come to you and then maybe go private after Monday

Bear season is only 6 days. 10 if the harvest is low. Dear season in 6 months. Do I really need to say more?

Mark I had that buck on my A&W minerals all summer, saw him nearly every day. He vanished just days before bow opener... I thought he might b 3.5, was hoping he would make it another year, will be a slammer. Therefore - please go for the bear! lol

Simple... You take the spot with the buck, I'll watch the spot with the bear for you. LOL... Either way good luck
