Just heard on ch 11 news the secret service is in crisis saying they needs,    more funding , a larger staff and  narrower mission".  OK get rid if all SS guarding  ex presidents and families (let the defend themselves and family).  Need more $ Give all Fed and Govt. 1 pension (they can choose which one). a narrower mission , protect the grounds of the white house and not the guy living in it.  End of Rant. Glad I'm almost to old to worry but I'm scared of what we're leaving our kids and grandchildren. And Ps. why should they get free housing the rest of their lives while many in the country are starving and homeless. F all  the Dems.  there worse than the terrorists.  ok now done., for now.

Presidential protection is a very small part of what our Secret Service does.  Most people don't know that.  They are part of the US Treasury Dept. and do a lot more investigative and undercover work with counterfeiting and crimes such as that than they do protecting Presidents (past and present), their families and other dignitaries.  Either way, it was a once great agency that has certainly fallen on hard times.  Tough to know why although I'll ask my buddy who ran the NY City field office until his retirement a few years ago when we're at his Christmas party in a couple weeks.  He's still tightly connected there.  He did all of Clinton's advance work as well as running the CAT squad which is the Secret Service's version of a SWAT team on steroids.

Just because the press wanted to make a big deal out of a couple horney secret service agents not paying thier, shall we say, hired help enough doesnt in my mind make that agency anything less than what it was before the incident... The hoes werent worth it / didnt perform properly and so the sted fast, well trained and dedicated agents stood thier ground and refused to pay.. Good for them..

Not to mention a few knuckle heads jumping the White House fence and running into the Peoples House. I was lucky enough to work with those guys back in the early 90s, they ran a tight ship then.
