Dead deer on route 4 has been there for three weeks

A dead Doe has been laying against the concrete divider on Route 4 East near the Teaneck/Englewood border for nearly a month.

 

There is not much room on that stretch of highway and the shoulder between the left lane and concrete is very narrow. I thought it would have been removed quickly for safety reasons.

 

Has anybody else seen it?

Not up that way, but I see plenty of deer just left on the side of roads, guess they don't remove them anymore?

One pretty much just rotted into the asphalt.

Another had an orange X put on it 2 weeks after it was hit and it's still there a week after that.

I seen a few by the atco area and one was nothing but skeleton

I don't know if it's the same one but, I saw a headless deer on the eastbound side of route 4 in Paramus.

One of the things our state did to save $$ was to push deer carcass pickup back on the county or towns, depending on who owns the road.  Most towns or counties pick them up now that the state won't, but some do not bother.  Out here in western/northwestern NJ, we have bears that will drag them back into the woods for dinner.

Plenty dead along Route 80 between Interchanges 19 and 37 that have been there for a month +.  Some are just puddles now.
