"15 packs selling in the $20 range"  from the article

Too much for me

I shoot the harvester scorpion PT gold in their red sabot and that come in right around $1 per shot

I'd love to work out a load with a hornady XTP pistol bullet and get the price per shot down considerably

That federal sure looks fancy though...

I shot those .45 XTPs for years with the black .50 Knight sabot sleeves. I tried the scorpion pt gold in 250 and 300 I believe but they didn't shoot as well as the Hornady sst 250. Using the black sabot from harvester

I shoot the Hornady 300 grain XTP mag pistol bullets with the EZ-3 Petal MMP sabots. Midway sells a 50 count box for around $20.00. They shoot very well out of my Savage muzzle loader.

They certainly look interesting. They are running about the same price as my 285gr barnes sabots so I would try them.

Funny thing with me, both the 285 grain Barnes and the scorpions shoot the same out of my CVA. I'd like to test a little more to see if I can clover leaf. Rightnow about 1.5 inch..

Those federals look good but not sure about the sabot part. Reminds me of power belts and I have read that they don't get the same pressure.

I use the 250gr T/C Shockwave, things are like anti-tank rounds.

Me too but 300gr.i shot one last year quartering towards in the shoulder.ive never seen so much damage.it turned pieces of bone to shrapnel and turned all the organs to mush.

when I got my Triumph I tried two sabots both 250gr. One was the Shockwave and the other was Barnes T-EZ, both shot well, out to just beyond 100 yds, but the Barnes was just a little more accurate

That's exactly what I was thinking, they reminded me of power belts and likewise was concerned about pressure.

Something worth looking into if your having an issue.  Hornady SST (250 grain) out of my Accura M/R are dead on after changing from my Shock Waves this year....
