I have to begin by saying that there is only one thing I have ever eaten that I will not eat again, and that is calf liver.  But fresh deer liver is delicious and hardly tastes like liver at all which always surprises hunters.  We just cook up a bunch of onions in olive oil, butter, salt and pepper and just a splash of Jack Daniels near the end.  Soak your deer liver in cold water, changing it a few times for at least an hour.  Once the blood is largely out of it, thinly slice the liver and dredge in flour seasoned with salt and pepper.  Then fry them in butter or olive oil until brown on both sides and serve with the onions.  The guys were taking them as fast as I could cook the slices, so I don't have many pictures.  :)

Ha Ha, now that's one thing I won't cook.  Maybe I'll bring you the next liver I have and let you cook it so I can just taste it.

Man I wish I could say that looks good, but I absolutely hate liver and onions...it's one of the few things I just won't eat.

The smell, the flavor...man distant nightmares of childhood!

Glad you guys enjoyed it though!
