S0uthernrebel78 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Went out looking for the alpha doe at my one spot, 5 o'clock the herd came in with the alpha doing her Normal snorting and stomping for no reason other than keeping all the other deer on high alert. She made the fatal mistake tonight and gave me a perfect broadside shot at 20 yards. She will never make that mistake again
Matty Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Nice, they can be as, or more, difficult than big bucks! I know it's a doe, but pix? Congrats! “I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s way of fang and claw and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow.” – Fred Bear

If you bring me a piece of bread, cabbage, coconut, mustard greens, pigs feet, pine cones...and a woodpecker, I'll make you a good chicken pot pie." — Si Robertson
Kilbo Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Nice!!! Let's see some pics of the old hag. I love connecting on old mature does. Like others have said they can be tough to harvest. Congrats!!!! Aim Small Miss Small..........No such thing as a bad day spent hunting.
delvalhunter Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Congrats! Sometimes I think the world has gone completely mad. And then I think, "Aw, who cares?" And then I think, "Hey, what's for supper?"
Cousin Brown Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Great job. Treestands don't demand, treestands don't complain, treestands simply ask me to sit down and listen.
S0uthernrebel78 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Only got one crappy pic of her last night, after I shot I still had a few deer nearby so I snuck out and went back after dark. I'll try and remember to get aa pic before I skin her out
