Good luck turkey hunters! Many guys compare turkey hunting to elk hunting, as they are both called into range. Lucky for me, never was excited by turkey nor pheasants.

I will stick to cervids.

I hunted elk and yes it is similar as far as them both being vocal. I’ve always said if turkeys could smell they would be very difficult to kill similar to elk. 
When you get a fired up gobbler coming closer your adrenaline definitely gets going. Elk when they are fired up and get closer they make the hair in your arm stand when they bugle.
