Shad and Striper

Took Spearfish out yesterday morning for shad. Very surprised at the few boats out for a Saturday. Fishing was just ok and we caught 21 shad and a surprise striper on a shad spoon. The river is running low and a lot of moss grass in the water. Had to clean the lines every few minutes of it. Dennis got a great action shot of me trying to hold one shad for a picture . Was good cause it was right back in the water. Fun day just on the water with some catching

That’s a good day! I noticed a lot of moss in the pequest this week as well. What’s up with that? Seems way too early unless the water temps are up I guess? Warm spring so far.

still early , just need another big shot of fish to push in .

light crowds there is great for when it does .

over twenty in a sit still nothing to sneeze at .

Yeah idk. Its not that rock snot that I've seen before. We could use some rain

I noticed it too in the Pequannock River on Saturday.. went last night too and much less with recent rains. I was shocked at how low it was on Saturday ..
