NOAA offshore wind report

No idea about the long term effects but the short term effects just from the start of construction to the finish product will no doubt affect the offshore fishery for a while. Will tuna and other pelagics stick close by or move further off? I guess it all comes down to where the bait goes and that will come down to water clarity and temp. I think proposed area right now is in the area of triple wrecks from what I’ve read.
Either way they’re coming regardless of what we think.

And again, no one appears to even mention let alone do a years' study of what happens AFTER the lifetime of the turbines... The current studies look at construction effects and effects while in use, but when you think of the years and years these dilapidated concrete pillars and turbines will remain in our waters because no one wants to spend the money to rip them completely out or refurbish them, what then? And it isn't even a guarantee the companies building these things will even still be in business 10 or 20 years later. What happens then? Who is responsible for repairing and maintaining them or ripping them out when no longer in use? Tax payers, I'm sure.

IMO they will become an ocean obstruction .

‘continued poisoning of our food sources

What do you mean by ocean obstruction

Going to rot away and fall in the ocean .

‘They have not repaired ones that previously broke down .

and the sea is a ruff place for anything she doesn’t want there

I thought it would help fishing like when New York sunk the subway cars

How about  views approve or disagree

Reef programs and making artificial habitat is not the same as the wind turbines while they are operational .

‘they create a constant hum that fish avoid . As well as flat fish don’t like crossing the sea floor transmission lines .

‘The turbines aren’t the same as offshore oil towers because of what they are doing

Also them reef programs didn’t cost the tax payers a billion dollars actually much more. Yup the cable also. As there isn’t anuff of it littering the ocean now

Watched channel 12 News yesterday ask Governor Murphy a question caller asked about the wind turbines having any influence on the death of Whales, man can that guy smooth n dance around, he stated it's under investigation didn't have an answer until all the data is in he didn't mention that he owned 75% of the stock in the company building them.aaaah

I'm not for the project, but I did have one of my best days of fluking near the  Block Island windmills with a pair of 9 lbers. and a full limit. Boat had 240 keepers on this day

You know what else I haven't heard about? What effect do the turbines have on the ocean waterfowl?

I only (just this past season) got into sea duck hunting with a buddy who just got himself a nice sea duck boat. The sea ducks out ocean-side are plentiful (and I think we were hunting really close, if not in, one of these areas they have designated for the wind farms). What happens to the ducks? Do they stay? Do they go? Are they affected at all? And what happens to the hunters? Will we be able to continue to hunt these areas??? I'm guessing that's a hard "no". I'm sure the liberals pushing this project would think it is a side benefit to stop more hunting, so I'm sure they don't care. But... the first point remains: What effect will this have on the waterfowl out there?

Every time I think of this subject, more questions pop up that I never hear anyone talk about.

Lots of info and complaints documented for bird kills etc , problems all species will have from the constant hum etc .

they pushed these wind farms further off land to stop some of the complaints , but problems don’t change .

more organizations agajnst these farms than for them , difference is who has the money .

there us no doubt with these being 30 miles off it Stays a secure zone even after project completion .

otherwise you open a huge issue with homeland security .

It's not just the EMF (or hum) at the turbine sites, it also emanates along the length of the cables running back to shore. How is this going to affect the groundfish like cod, flounder, etc?

Not to mention sharks and skates which are very sensitive to EMF.
