A few notes. I didn't use 1/4" thick slices. More like 1/8". Mine dried in about 4 hours. I didn't use a smoker this time. I used my dehydrator because I had better control over the dryness. If you like a "smoke" flavor, there are lots of options you can to add to the marinade. I used a Mc Cormick's Applewood Smoke flavor mix they sell in the Supermarket.

Omit Red Pepper Flakes if you don't want it "spicy".

So them ingredients are based on 1 lb ? Looks great. Def gonna try it

YES. It's more than enough. I made about 3.5 lbs and I only doubled the recipe. If you are going to make a large amount, look for a cheap Bourbon or else it will cost a ton and you won't tell the difference since there are so many other ingredients. I put in the cure (prague powder) but it wasn't in the original recipe.

That's very cool. I just started making jerky this year, and so far have made only batches based on honey and sriracha sauce and then a chipotle pepper-based one.

Does anyone have any favorite jerky recipes they want to share?

As I said, I tried a lot of different recipes, both commercial and homemade, and the one I posted in the thread is by far the best I've had and everyone I give it to concurs. Everyone's taste is different. You may not like the subtle Bourbon flavor. Some people like sweet (teriyaki) or spicy, etc. Find one that fits your flavor preference profile. I use an internet search to find recipes. You can search "beef" jerky recipes too and use venison instead.

The ones I liked the least were the commercial mixes.
