What's the strangest thing you've seen or happen while trout fishing?

Couple years ago I forgot a stringer. Landed a nice one to keep for dinner so I kept it hooked up on my rod next to a tree while I ran back to my truck to get something to Mcguiver a stringer with. As I'm walking back I see a heron down where my trout is on my rod and try to take off only for it to stop mid flight and have the trout ripped out of its mouth and it fell back into the water. It was still hooked, landed it again. Darn thing must have a been posted up down stream waiting for an easy meal.

A few years ago on the Musky, had a beaver swim around a section I was fishing and then come up and kept pestering me until I moved out of the water.

I once gutted a trout & went to rinse it off & it swam away.  Gone.  Didnt expect that
