So I just came across this at my house and am confused by the rub that seems to have just been made. Or is this somehow normal this time of year?

I’ve found some recently opened up scrapes as well. I think as long as they have their headgear, their testosterone is high enough for them to still feel rutty

Rut has nothing to do with the bucks feeling rutty.  Chances are there was or is a stragglers doe in estrous.  I can't find the thread of spotted fawn in December but this would cause it

This is pic from this past week of fawn that was still spotted in late December. If it was not a mild winter I do not think it had much chance to survive.

I've seen bucks hold till April before but not the normal.

I found two fresh scrapes on Friday while checking traps that weren't there on Thursday
